BENCHMARK® Expands in the Pacific Northwest Will Operate Avenue Bellevue InterContinental Hotel
The Woodlands (Houston), Texas, January 30, 2019 … BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, is expanding its presence in the Pacific Northwest and will operate the newly announced Avenue Bellevue InterContinental Hotel. Part of a new billion-dollar condo, hotel and retail development in downtown Bellevue, Washington, the spectacular new property will be InterContinental® Hotels & Resorts’ first venture in the Pacific Northwest. With construction set to start in mid-2019, the dramatic and elegant two-tower development will feature 332 luxury residences and 85,000 sq. feet of high-end retail, food and nightlife – including a new restaurant from a three-Michelin-star chef. Avenue Bellevue (www.liveatavenue.com) will also feature the 252-guest room InterContinental Hotel, which will boast a full-service spa and fitness center, meeting space and other luxury amenities.
BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, Adds The Kartrite Resort & Indoor Waterpark to Its Operating Portfolio
A Benchmark Resorts & Hotels Property to Open in March
The Woodlands (Houston), Texas, January 2019 … BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, has added The Kartrite Resort & Indoor Waterpark (www.thekartrite.com) to its expanding Benchmark Resorts & Hotels brand operating portfolio. Located in Monticello, in New York’s Catskill Mountains, the new property will open in March 2019 on 1,600 wooded acres, the site of the Resorts World Catskills entertainment complex. The new luxury hotel will include a state-of-the-art, two-acre indoor waterpark with activities and amenities geared to family fun. The hotel and indoor waterpark will also feature multiple dining options, a relaxing spa, a ropes course, and an entertainment arcade. Guests will have access to cutting-edge gaming at Resorts World Catskills and can tee off at the world-famous Monster Golf Course. The accommodations will include 324 luxury suites.
BENCHMARK® Expands to Florida’s Gulf Coast
Will Manage Two St. Pete Beach Resorts Purchased by Capital Partner GencomThe Woodlands (Houston), Texas, January 2019 … Expanding its presence in Florida to the state’s popular Gulf Coast, BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, will manage, renovate and reposition two properties on St. Pete Beach, an award-winning destination off the coast of St. Petersburg in Tampa Bay. A venture led by Benchmark's capital partner, Gencom, has purchased the two beachfront properties, The Beachcomber Beach Resort and Hotel and The Grand Plaza Beach Hotel & Beach Resort and committed $24 million for major renovations to upgrade the two properties. Gencom and Benchmark forged a strategic management partnership in 2016.
BENCHMARK® Announces Program to Eliminate Single Use Plastics from all 80 Properties

Just one word… Plastics.” Those immortal lines from The Graduate, an iconic film released in 1967, was meant to convey the opportunities offered by the plastics industry for the newly minted college grad, Benjamin Braddock. Today, plastic products, built to last thousands of years, are now presenting not opportunities, but serious and complex environmental challenges.
BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, is addressing one of the most critical issues – the approximately eight million tons of plastic products that annually pollute our oceans, rivers and coastlines, endangering wildlife, littering beaches and releasing toxins into the water. Many of those products, known as “single use plastics”, comprise a significant part of those eight million tons and they are very heavily used by hotels and restaurants. Benchmark is initiating an ambitious program to reduce use of plastics in all 80 of its luxury hotels, resorts and conference centers, starting in 2019. The project, Single Use Plastic Reduction, will combine innovative technology, comprehensive policies and procedures, introduction of new, sustainable products and a sophisticated messaging program to educate hotel staff and guests as to the importance of the initiative.

Ames Boston Hotel Earns "Conversion of the Year" Award From Hilton's Curio Collection
The historic Ames Boston Hotel, a member of the Curio Collection by Hilton™ and of Gemstone Collection by BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, today announces that it has received the coveted “Conversion of the Year” award from Hilton.
Earlier this year, the 15-story Ames Boston Hotel completed a $6 million renovation, which saw a redesign of the hotel’s public spaces, including the Lobby, whose tiled mosaic arched ceiling was preserved, and The Library, which serves as new communal workspace for guests. With the addition of the Ames and Oliver & Oakes meeting rooms and their pre-function vestibule, Ames Boston Hotel now boasts 1,700 square feet of new private event space.
